What Inspired The Song

Not everyone likes Christmas; all kinds of memories can flood us for what can seem like weeks; for some people, Christmas preparations start as early as October, which can make some of us sad for what seems like a very long time. Some memories are painful, and as we age, more sad memories of loved ones we have lost seem to overwhelm us with sadness. Some of us just cannot get beyond the loss. We miss those magic moments WE ONCE SHARED.
There will be people that find themselves alone at Christmas; maybe they have no family left to celebrate the day, perhaps they cannot bring themselves to embrace the festive spirit. It can be a time of great sadness. Check on your neighbours, and those you know maybe alone.
This song was written to remind us that we CAN look beyond the loss and pain of losing our loved ones or the painful experiences that the Christmas period seems to surround us. Instead, focus on the BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES made together that can never be taken from us. By allowing ourselves to reach PAST the loss that surrounds us and remember the precious moments, and by embracing those and letting those fill our hearts, we will begin to ignite the spark of that excitement we may have chosen to hideaway. I genuinely believe our loved ones are always there….goodbye doesn't have to mean we are saying goodbye to our memories.

Peter Cleff ‘Secret Christmas’ Version

This year our Christmas Song was quite a difficult task partially due to Covid Restrictions which meant we could not record in a studio. However, Peter has performed on several of the Military Veterans Creative Arts productions and was able to do a recording for us from home. Once the children’s vocals were recorded Peter then recoded his vocals and harmonies to build around the children’s vocals.
