Military Veterans Creative Arts Supporting ASA Scotland

Military Veterans Creative Arts Supporting other Charitable Organisations.

ASA Scotland is a charity that Suzie supports wholeheartedly—raising awareness of the Sacrifices made by our Armed Forces.

The MVCA has created various videos and donated exclusively commissioned art funded by the MVCA. Some of these are the original framed art.

We have also donated prints (see below) to raise funds to help with their many different projects. These can be purchased directly from the Ancre Somme links at the bottom of the page.

Tommy Davidson says:

We are a U.K. charity that promotes our Armed Forces heritage from WW1, WW2 to the current day.

Our Patron is Former 22 SAS, Colin MacLachlan.

The John McAleese MM Commemoration Society is a subgroup of the Ancre Somme Association Scotland Charity.

Our charity engages with schools, cadet forces, community groups, All faith groups, Councils, Businesses and Organisations. We create Memorials and events to ensure those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for Sovereign and Nation are never forgotten. We also raise funds for various causes and projects. John McAleese MM Memorial 26-08-2021

A memorial to John was unveiled on 26th August 2021.

The SAS hero who took part in one of Britain’s most famous counter-terrorism operations has been honoured in his home village of Laurieston.

The unveiling was carried out by Provost William Buchanan and Alan Simpson, HM’s Lord-Lieutenant Stirling and Falkirk. Sculptor Helen Runciman from Denny created the bronze which shows John in his SAS beret.

It was a beautiful sunny day, many people from far away attended, and the Ancre Somme and all involved came together to make this a special memorable day.

It has been a great honour and privilege for the Military Veterans Creative Arts to be given permission to create a set of John McAleese MM videos.

As ASA Scotland says “Your freedom was never free, god bless our brave men and women in our Armed Forces – past, present and future”.

John McAleese MM Growing Up Part 1

This video tells the story of John as a young lad. Billy McAleese Johns twin brother shares some stories about their time growing up. It’s a side of John that many of us may not know. It will remind us that all who served in the Armed Forces were children, mothers and fathers, son’s and daughters, sisters or brothers.

Speaking with Johns brother Billy, family members and friends to enable me to put these videos together has been such an honour. It helped me immensely to better understand not just the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women but also their families.

John McAleese MM SAS

When I was told Johns favourite song was ‘Bat Our Of Hell’ by Meatloaf it was decided that a video would be created for him. The images have been adapted to suit the style and some great funs bits added.
