Tomorrow 21st July the Gurkhas will start a hunger strike.

My thoughts are with you all.

Dear all, as you are all aware our Gurkha campaign is reaching the most important and serious stage. Undoubtedly, if both British/ Nepal governments do not settle our issues prior to 21st July 2021, then we are left with no alternative but to mount a hunger strike, in order to proceed with the international legal process. By any means, we won’t give up this time as we have been fighting for over the past three decades to get equal justice. We have had enough with the bullshit to suit their excuses in the past. The Gurkha Satyagraha united struggle committee UK/ Nepal are working extremely hard preparing for the expected potential action, mentioned above, on the 21st. Therefore, all Gurkha veterans and their dependent families, our fellow British veterans, social activists, press, social media, TV channels, photographers, and other well-wishers are requested to lend their support at this crucial moment in the Gurkha historical campaign. In the meantime, on behalf of the Gurkha Sayyagtaha Struggle Committee UK/ Nepal, I would like to sincerely request that you could you please make yourself available on Wednesday 21st July 2021, for another rally protest; followed by a hunger strike which will start the same day if we fail to receive any progress from both governments. Most importantly, this campaign is representing all Gurkha veterans and their families wherever they are across the globe. I believe all our supporters will understand our frustration at being the victims of racial discrimination for over 206 years. This is what we are fighting for and seeking the justice we deserve. This time we will not give up the fight. Unless the British / Nepal governments address our longstanding issues we will carry out the course of action set out above. Our campaign is not prepared to accept any assurance or false promises from any government third parties this time. Please do not hesitate to lend us your support as it is vitally important for us, in this great common cause. In addition to this, I would be grateful if you could help me to spread this message to others via your individual social network. It would greatly be appreciated. A further update will follow in due course. Thank you, Laxmi Ghising PR Gurkha Satyagraha United Struggle Committee UK/ Nepal

Update:

Dear all,

This is a reminder email to all regarding the rally event taking place at Trafalgar Square in London, from 1200 hrs onwards, on Wednesday 21st July 2021. From here we’re marching towards 10 Downing Street, we will then be carrying out the campaign business for the day.

There is no sign of any progress by both Governments to address the Gurkhas issues as of yet. So, as per our campaign schedule, our hunger strike will begin before the end of the rally on the above-mentioned date.  This event won’t be cancelled by any means unless both governments address our long-standing grievances.

Therefore, all Gurkha veterans, our die heart supporters, fellow British veterans, the general public, social activists, the media, TV presenters, and supporters who hate discrimination are requested to attend this event if they possibly can. We are expecting that this event will be more effective and hard-hitting than the previous one.

In addition, recently, our Gurkha campaigner has also conducted a productive protest rally in Nepal, to give a final warning to the Nepal government by our campaigner team. It means our campaign is reaching a high peak and we are continuing to building up our pressure with a contingency unchanged plan to these both corrupted governments.

To take this fight further we now intend to proceed to take international legal action against both Governments to get justice for the Gurkhas veterans. I would be grateful if you could help me to spread this message to others via your individual social network. It would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you all for your continued support of our ongoing historical Gurkha campaign. We, look forward to seeing you all on the day.

  1. It’s an absolute disgrace that the Gurka is treated by these governments as though they are there to be used and then thrown by the wayside. Respect these men who have stayed loyal to Britain. All you career politicians. They are part of our history which no British person should be ashamed of. But sadly there are many who today are trying to dismiss the history of Britain.
