Welcome Dutch the Military Veterans Creative Arts Mascot

What a beauty….

Meet Dutch, who will be heading our ‘Paws for Thought Buddy Support” project with Rob.

Rob served in N.I. as a dog handler, and last year he came up with the idea of the ‘Paws for Though Buddy Support’ proposal, which Lucy Tankard helped him write up.

This group will help support veterans suffering from PTSD and that are socially isolated.

We will be creating a FB page for Dutch and Rob in the future. Rob will be available to chat and offer support and advice. More information to follow.

Carlos 357 – Words by Veteran Rob Gray

Rob has been on several songwriting workshops to create this lyric called Carlos 357.

Rob performed in the Stay Strong Be Brave production and has attended a one-to-one 6-week songwriting programme to understand lyric writing and has been supported by our coaches Amanda Blue, Jane Taylor, Suzie and Peter Cleff and Suzie.

Carlos 357 was Rob’s service dog in N.I. in the early ’70s. Rob loved Carlos very much and this song is in memory of Carlos 357

Rob has been a Poppy Appeal Organiser for York for six years.

In that time he has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The money raised help keep military husbands and wives together that have dementia, something that is close to Rob’s heart.

Rob looks forward to this year’s Poppy Appeal.

Rob is launching an AFVC breakfast club in York on the 2nd of October. He looks forward to people joining him.
