New Painted Oars Raises RMA Gig Club Profile
The Club received their first set of brand new oars painted with Corps colours on the blades. The oars have been custom made and manufactured by James Poulson of East Cornwall Oars, Liskeard.
The oars were funded jointly by a Club Crowdfunder campaign with Plymouth City Change Fund, Plymouth City Council who matched the £1,260 raised by Club members.
The new oars will help to raise the profile of the Club by clearly showing their ties to the Royal Marines. The hope is that this will encourage more serving military and veterans from all the services and their families. Gig rowing is hugely beneficial to the wellbeing of the local community, predominantly our disabled veterans.
